William L. Gertz, the President and CEO of the ذكذكتسئµ (ذكذكتسئµ), received an Honorary Doctorate in International Relations from Richmond, the American International University in London last week at Richmond’s graduation ceremony for the class of 2014.
During the commencement, held at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea on May 14, Gertz was awarded the degree in recognition of his commitment to education and internationalism. Gertz is responsible for having led many initiatives instrumental to the growth and direction of ذكذكتسئµ, one of the world’s largest cultural exchange and educational travel organizations for more than 50 years, enriching the lives of young people all over the world.
A resident of Fairfield, Connecticut, Gertz joined ذكذكتسئµ in 1985 and has served as the President and CEO since 2005. In addition to more than 30 years of experience in international education, he has guided ذكذكتسئµ into the 21st century through such innovations as establishing the company’s first website in 1994 and providing leadership in a myriad of educational and social causes including organizing the Diversity in International Education workshop in Washington, D.C. in 2010.
Based in Stamford, Connecticut and with offices in 6 countries, ذكذكتسئµ places approximately 50,000 students a year in their cultural exchange programs, including high school and college study abroad experiences, high school travel, college prep, au pair placement, gifted education, insurance services and camp counselor staffing.
